FASHION AS I SEE IT, TRENDS I HAVE SET
After unrelenting pressure from my fans, those with obvious taste in fashion and style. I am going to ramble on a bit about how I see the world of fashion and some of the trends I have set. This ramble is without a space in time and covers my style in the past. As well as the up to date trends I am still establishing. A lot of it is pictorial (words fail to conjure up the proper image of evolving style). Some may not like my tastes, others may not voice their likes (they just follow my style secretly) and yet others now form a part of my cult following.
Before I get into this there is one that I no longer have an image of, yet I’ll leave this little description for you to form your own visual image. It was about the ensemble I wore on my departure from Canada to Peru. In the dead of winter here, and the hottest of summer there. I had a full length brown leather coat, trimmed with a full raccoon collar. It was a sight for sore eyes, to any Peruvians that encountered me on my journey. I think it was this jacket that launched my fashion career.
One of the first statements I made was making sure my hair looked good for the low class construction people I was to encounter in the Andes. The ladies raved about it, others not so much. It was as close to a “fro” as I could get.
The next trend was an instant hit. My daughters loved it when they were young and still love it today. It is called the White Calf Socks and Sandals look. It has survived time.
OMUTA, JAPAN 1983 Lake Tahoe, CA. 1986 SEYCHELLES ISLANDS 1988 NEW YORK 1993 MOLLENDO, PERU 2012
The next hit was my Short, Short look, that I rocked long after others had moved on to covering up their legs.
Next I started dabbling with color in my wardrobe. I launched this line at the most important time of Deysi’s life. her wedding day. This little number lasted me well into my years in Japan, but I notice that it was starting to shrink so I put it on the shelf there.
Japan and the color was still a big part of my line-up.
And for those that truly believe, that I never owned a pair of blue jeans, this dip into the jean pool, proves that I did have one pair. This phase, although it didn’t last long, was a short break from my otherwise impeccable tastes.
Came the Marlboro Man phase, which took me back to my roots as a young cowboy. This expression of a repressed part of my character poked thru from time to time over the years.
Then came the white pants phase of my collection. This again, laster a good part of my life, and even now when I get nostalgic, I break out a pair and rock them!
Well I guess you get the drift, most of my styles have lasted me a lifetime and never seem to get old. I have tried to touch briefly on my natural flair for style and color coordination and hope I have succeeded in wetting your appetite for more. Believe me I have many, many, more trend setters where these came from. Depending on the response to this venture into fashion land, I may produce more for your enjoyment in the future. I know many of you are thinking, “so that’s who invented all of these trends”! Poor dears it was me all the time. I leave you with one parting image below.

Was the one in Tucson taken before a country western singers impersonators convention? I thought maybe you were going for Johnny Cash but then thought more likely Merle Haggard!

That one was for one of those “Cumbaya” deals our company used to throw. You can see I’m not happy being decked out like that.

Dad, you missed your calling as a Fashion Blogger.
I do wish you would have left the white crew socks in the 80s.
