LITTLE SISTER COMES TO VISIT IN HONOLULU – 1991
Shortly after our arrival in Hawaii, we were joined by one of Deysi’s younger sisters (Lalitas). She had been travelling with us since we met in the late 70’s in Peru. At this time she was living in Edmonton so was pumped for a trip to the beach, after finishing a long hard winter in the frozen north. She was very used to travelling and living with us, so her joining us was just an extra woman to pick on me and boss me around. the girls were so excited to see her and could not wait for the “spoiling” to start. They were naturals at absorbing, however much, spoiling that you could give them. And their auntie provided them with as much as they could handle.
I knew after her departure, it would be a couple of weeks before they returned to “normal”. Oh well that is my lot in life, I just bite down and go with the flow. On this trip Auntie stayed, just down the street from us, in another beautiful resort on the beach. She was ready to rock and roll. Let the fun begin, says I.
We had rented a car and had decided to tour the island. Somehow I already knew that there would be no golf for me on this leg of the trip. We did not have a real idea of where to go or what to see, so we kinda took our map, found the coast and just sort of wandered along it. As you are already aware from many of our previous adventures in this life so far, we had been at or close to the tropics and beaches through much of our travels. However, as beautiful as each and every one of them was, nothing prepares you for Hawaii.
I am not quite sure whether its the color of the water, the sand, the climate, the action, the endless beaches, the surf, the picturesque volcanos, the atmosphere of excitement or of the magnificent skyscrapers backing the coastline, each one promising some new and exotic adventure. I suspect it was a mix of all of these components. It was as if you were at the county fair each and every day. Since this time we have visited a tonne more beautiful and exotic places, but, for me, none reach the level of Hawaii (excluding my first love Peru, that is).
So off we go to see what we could see, seek out some adventure and get to know our new favorite island. The girls, now with their auntie in tow, were somehow not so resistant to touring, as they would have been if we were by themselves. When I try to point out how annoying they could be on a day tour, I am met with “jimcito how could you say such things, these girls are perfect little angels. Don’t you let me hear you say anything bad about them again. You hear me?” Geezus, well I tried to “out” them in front of their auntie, to no avail. I guess I’ll just sit in here, drive and not offer anymore truths about the girls. Like I have said before “can’t a man get a break around here?”
We spent an idyllic few hours touring and snooping around the sights. Instead of trying to describe our day tour in words, I am going to try and let some of our photos of this day, do the explanation for me. Enjoy!

One of our best trips and you did indeed spoil them. After your visits it took me months to reprogram them
