RANTS OR THINGS THAT PISS ME OFF – THE MEDIA 2020

My first rant of this new blog is about something that has become one of my biggest pet peeves and disappointments in the past few years. That being the MEDIA. For many years I was basically a “sheep” being herded in whatever direction the shepherd (Media) wanted to herd me. I basically took everything I read as gospel. I believed the written word 100% and like a sheep, I never questioned the shepard’s commands. I also noticed many, many times, inconsistencies in stories between different news organizations.

I never once had enough brains to say “hold it this is horseshit!” Like a good little citizen I blew right by these inconsistencies and IF I even thought about it, I justified it as being a simple mistake. I guess what I thought was that the Media had to tell the truth, had to be unbiased. They did not and would not use the press to influence decisions, policy, law, hates, fears or any of the peoples rights to independent decision based on facts.

OH HOW WRONG I WAS! Once I woke up and realized that the media had been playing me like a fiddle all of my life, I was devastated. The sad thing was, it was very open and obvious. If I had just taken the time to think it through. I never did. The Media was one thing I never questioned. It was one piece of my life that I thought I did not have to worry about. OMG I felt like such a fool once the realization sank in. It came very close to destroying my spirit. How embarrassing to realize that things I fought for, stood for and informed others about, were in a lot of cases, BASED ON FALSEHOODS perpetrated by the media, and swallowed hook line and sinker by me.

The realization that Media is influenced by anything other than the truth has caused me to change a lot of values, especially my trust in “anything”. It has made me less open to discussion and to voicing opinions, because I do not know which of my beliefs, understandings, or interpretations are/were based on falsehoods. What I believe guided the media, such as the TRUTH could have not been further from the truth. Sadly what I came to realize was that the media was guided by Greed, Ratings (spelled greed), Religion, Politics, Fame, Bias and surely a certain amount of Evil. Instead of reporting things “like it is” they report things “like their company philosophy wants it to be” and hope you/I are not wise enough to realize it.

Starting a few short years ago, I have taken a stand that “everything I read in the media is a lie” and that before I absorb or repeat anything I have read I need to vet it, somehow, through independent sources (which also need vetting for the same reasons as above). It has made me less open and less likely to engage in discussions and especially to get into serious debate over anything. I lost a little piece of my life. I wish I could have gotten this off my chest before the “Great toilet paper frenzy” took place. Many of us could have made some great use of written media!

Research shows the craziness factor of rants is decreased by 20% when spaces are incorporated between paragraphs and a further 10% by avoiding Random Capitalization 😁

I spent a bunch of time picking out the random capitalized words thinking it spelled out a secret message. Disappointed to find out I was wrong. 😂

Hate the media lies lies lies.
how dare they talk people into their own beliefs that often have nothing to do with the truth.
    It should punishable by law!
