SIGHTS & SCENES OF KYUSHU JAPAN 1984

Our home town in Japan was Omuta, located on the South Island Kyushu and attached to Shimabara Peninsula. It was a beautiful place and filled with wonders not yet experienced by our young family. We took every opportunity to see any and all sights that we were told about, read about or otherwise learned of. We travelled all over following the route 50 signposts. There was nothing else that we could understand. Everything was in Kanji. Bubbaloo had come up with a system of mapping our routes. She even caught the bus using her interpretation. For example she would say “there it is, the sign for 3 trees and a gate or 2 telephone poles and an umbrella, or a teepee and a ladder” she was bloody good at it. Anyway armed with our guide we sallied forth.

I hope some of our friends from Japan are watching and can read some of the signs or descriptions on our pictures. Also do not be afraid to correct me where I may have made an error. I’m used to it Bubbaloo does it all of the time.
