RAMBLINGS

WHAT SHALL I WEAR TO GRADUATION?

Well Good Morning all of you doubters and naysayers! Hahahahaha, I PASSED, I PASSED! Let my summer holidays begin. I know many of you will not believe that I attended (perfectly, I might add), participated (in all the Kumbaya crap I hate), involved myself in class discussions, studied, did not complain, didn’t think or say anything negative about the course or teachers, did not make one political statement. Even though I suspected the “leanings” of the teachers. And I didn’t cheat (it’s not my fault the exams were open book, I didn’t make the rules). I got 90.2% on the test. Although, I could have made 100% I wanted to leave a little room for the younger students to excel.

For those of you that don’t follow me often, for those who are closet readers or those newcomers; my daughter, in Edmonton, enrolled me in an Intermediate level course on WordPress Websites, through the continuing education program in Alberta. I suspect she did that after my recent foray into building and publishing this Blog. Helped by my feeble attempts at developing a website for that purpose. It might be harsh. But I believe a lot of my so called fans, had a secret desire to see me fail.

I entered the program and immediately found out how lacking I was in the language set needed to communicate in today’s world. So I had to start at Geek 101 and add another lingo to my lingo bank (which stood at one, and four words of Peruvian). Anyway I sucked it up and dove in. My first dive resulted in a bounce back when I realized I did not understand much of what they were teaching me on the first day. I stepped back and took another dive in. It got a little easier and I struck out for the other end of the pool.

“OH SIGH” I COULD JUST LOOK AT THIS ALL DAY LONG

Anyway I arrived at the other end and they gave me a certificate which, although a little short of a Doctorate, still screams out You Bloody Genius, You the Man, and other such superlatives. I just hope your jealousy does not eat you up! Now for the Prom. I have been thinking of asking ol Bubbaloo to accompany me, if she can put away her ill feelings at my amazing feat. I was gonna dig out the old powder blue tux from our wedding day 43 years ago. I’m sure it will still fit. I can’t wait.

At the end of my course they said the next program for me is their Website Building for Professionals. You think? Anyway a final thought to leave you with. If ever you find yourself in an IT role where your phone rings and someone asks something you don’t know the answer to, immediately, in your most sarcastic of voices, tell them to phone the help line and then hang up. You then pray that they don’t call the help line because you also have to answer that phone!

I’M SURE IT WILL FIT, THIS IS ME GOING TO THE PROM!
